Chris Tewell
Chairman of the Board
Mr. Tewell is currently a Director and Chief Financial Officer of Myriant Technologies LLC, a “green chemical “company. As Chairman he brings extensive experience in international finance and biofuels to Pure Biofuels. Previously he was a Senior Advisor at Wydown Management Corporation which provided advisory services to Plainfield Asset Management LLC. His focus was on energy projects including biodiesel, ethanol and wood pellets. Earlier Mr. Tewell was Acting President of GE Capital Asia Pacific, Chief Executive Officer of Triton Container International, and Chief of Staff at GATX Corp., where he was responsible for American Steamship Company. In addition he was a commercial and investment banker specializing in asset based and project finance. Mr. Tewell has a MBA in Finance from the University of Michigan and a BA in Economics with honors from Trinity College.
Carlos Alberto Pinto
President and CEO
Mr. Alberto Pinto is currently the President and the CEO of Pure. His relationship with Pure Biofuels dates back to its inception when he and the other founders first envisioned a world class Biodiesel producer and terminal operator. Mr. Pinto has guided Pure from the business plan stage until present day. Mr. Pinto is a global shipping and logistics and international commodities markets veteran. He draws on over 20 years of experience in the petrochemical and shipping industries. Mr. Pinto has substantial international capital markets expertise financing private and public international cross border ventures. He continues to be a top resource assiting in structuring significant transcactions and resolving other key financing issues. Mr. Pinto holds a degree in Business Administration and an MBA from the Boston University School of Management.
Patrick Orlando
Director
Mr. Orlando, age 37, is a Senior Consultant at P.O. Consulting where he provides financial and engineering/technology consulting. Mr. Orlando was a Director at Deutsche Bank where he ran the emerging market debt derivatives market making from 1998-2003. Previous to Deutsche Bank, Mr. Orlando worked at JP Morgan from 1995 to 1998 where he served in the US swaps and structured product areas as well as in emerging markets debt derivatives market making, marketing, and structuring. Mr. Orlando was educated at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the Alfred P. Sloan School of Management.
Panos Ninios
Director
Mr. Ninios has been President and Interim CEO of Heliosphera S. A. and Heliosphera U.S. Inc. since January 2010. From September 2006 to December 2009, he was Managing Director of Plainfield Asset Management. From September 2003 to August 2006, he was a consultant with McKinsey & Co.
Michael Johnson
Director
Mr. Johnson is a Senior Vice President at Plainfield Asset Management LLC. Prior to joining Plainfield, Mr. Johnson worked at Nautic Partners, LLC, where he was responsible for the analysis and execution of private equity investments across a variety of sectors. Previously, he was an investment banker at Merrill Lynch & Co. in the Leveraged Finance group, where he focused on high yield bond, leveraged loan and mezzanine debt financings. Mr. Johnson graduated from Williams College with a B.A. in Economics and received his M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
